In honor of Veterans Day – on Friday Nov 11 – at 3:30pm at the Lacey branch of the OceanCounty Library Meet the bikers of Rolling Thunder and Amanda Zito HM1 USN (ret) will be here to discuss the history of women in the Armed Services in honor of Veterans Day. Please register. By calling: 609 693-8566

Tom’s Tidbits:

Ocean County is home to over 68000 veterans. The county offers a lot of great services – as does the state, by the way, for veterans in need. From employment help to medical questions you can call the OC Veterans Service Bureau at 732- 929-2096. And if you love your freedom, thank a veteran.

Don’t forget we are an official drop off site for the US Marines’ Toys for Tots program. The box is right in our lobby so just spin in, drop a new, unwrapped toy off and make a better holiday for a needy kid.

Fall tips on Landscape and Yardwork
Although grass appears to stop growing in the fall, the roots are actually growing deeper to prepare for winter. Now is the best time to fertilize and reseed your lawn.
Prune your trees and shrubs after the leaves turn to encourage healthy growth.
Trim any tree limbs that are dangerously close to power lines or the roof of your house. Heavy snow and ice can cause damage in the winter.

Poll Question of the Week on our FaceBook page:
So last week our Facebook question was: do you prefer an e reader or old fashioned book.
The responses actually came out 50/50. I use both but when it comes to relaxing there really is nothing but a book in my hands.

This week’s poll question:
• How do you feel about the stores being all decked out for Christmas? Should they wait until after Thanksgiving?
